ANDERSON, Norman R. 'Norm' Born July 1, 1950 in East Saint Louis, Illinois, Norm passed away peacefully August 24, 2013 in his home with his loved ones. He was an inspiration to all in his long and brave battle against prostate cancer.
Norm will be forever remembered by his loving wife Diane, nephews and nieces Brian and Joelle Kahn, Crystal Anderson, Katie and Annie Vierra and Amy, Matthew, Jeffrey, Eric, Meghan, Karin, William, Alex, Taina and Catherine Anderson. He is survived by his mother Lou, brothers Mark and Terry (Julie) and sisters Dawn (Anthony) and Jeri (Beth) and brother and sister-in-law Dave and Debra Vierra. He was preceded in death by his father Norman Anderson. Norm is also greatly missed by his faithful Boston Terrier, Popeye.
Norm attended Mira Loma High School and made life-long friends with whom he remained in close contact. Along with his loving family members, cherished childhood friends Tim Driver and Russ Miller provided invaluable comfort and friendship to Norm during his last days.
He married his high school sweetheart Diane Hinshaw in 1996. Norm's life-long loves were his faith, his family and his friends. A devoted Catholic, Norm's spirit, love and sense of humor touched everyone he met. He enjoyed camping, RV's, fishing, sports, getting together with friends and family, sipping a good limoncello and sharing numerous jokes and stories. He was a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle and best friend.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Rosary Friday August 30 at 7:00pm with Visitation at 6:00pm and a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday August 31 at 1:00pm. Both will be held at the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church located at 4123 Robertson Avenue, Sacramento, CA. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento after the Mass followed by a BBQ reception honoring Norm's immeasurable contributions to our lives.
At his request, remembrances and contributions may be made in his honor to the Presentation Church Altar Society at (916) 481-7441.
