Rachel Cook, 79, Dies in Hospital
Rachel Ann (Hinshaw) Cook, 79, died Wednesday in Henry County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
The widow of Isaac Cook and the daughter of Nelson and Margaret Hinshaw, she was born in Randolph County Jan 18, 1890. She was a retired employee of World Bestos.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dewey,(Mable) Coffey with whom she made her home, Mrs. Vernetta Smith, and Mrs. Hardie (Gladys) Booher, all of New Castle; two sisters Mrs. Gladys Bittner of New Castle, and Mrs. Lydia Durham of Caledonia, Ohio; one brother, Ernest Hinshaw of New Castle; three stepsisters. Lydia Porter of New Castle, Nora Dinkins of Houston, Tex, and Linnie Thomas of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, and 17 great-stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Stanley Mortuary by Rev. James Coffey with burial in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call any time at the mortuary wher the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
