On Jun 5 1918 Earnest Painter, age 21, had registered for the World War I draft in Henry County, Indiana.  He declared his birthplace as well as his then residence was Springport, Indiana.  He declared he was a self-employed farmer "on a farm near Springport"; his nearest relative was W.A. [or H.A.] Painter of Springport.  He was recorded as having brown eyes, light brown hair.7

In 1980 Earnest was still living in Henry County, Indiana.6  

Earnest died Oct - 1980.6
