She married John A. Charlotte2,5,6 [John Sharlotte4], May 30 18602,5,6, Summerfield M.E. Church, Brooklyn, Kings County, New York2,5,6.  John, son of John Charlotte & Rosanna D. Eslick, was born about 1836, North Carolina.5,7,8,9  

Sarah's marriage was announced in the "New York Times" (New York, New York) on Saturday, June 2, 1860:6,10

CHARLOTTE-HENSHAW. -- In Brooklyn, on Wednesday, May 30, at the Summerfield M. E. Church, by Rev. Dr. Crooks, Mr. John A. Charlotte, formerly of Newbern, N.C., to Miss Sarah R., daughter of L. K. Henshaw, Esq., of the former place.

Sarah's marriage was also noted in the "Brooklyn Daily Eagle" (Brooklyn, New York) on Thursday, May 31, 1860:

CHARLOTTE-HENSHAW -- On Wednesday, May 30th, at the Summerfield M. E. Church, by the Rev. Dr. Crooks, Mr. John A. Charlotte, late of Newbern, N.C., to Miss Sarah R., daughter of L. K. Henshaw, Esq., of this city.

On Jan 3 1853 J. Charlotte of New Bern, Craven County, North Carolina, wrote a letter of introduction to President Millard Filmore, recommending his 16 1/2 year old son, John A. Charlotte, as a Cadet candidate for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.11  John's father, John Charette, was apparently wealthy as in 1850 he was the owner of 14 slaves.12

Sarah R Scharlotte, wife, age 37, born in North Carolina; keeping house.
Florence Scharlotte, child, age 13, born in Kings County.
Irving Scharlotte, child, age 11, born in Kings County.
Grace Scharlotte, child, age 8, born in Kings County.
[.. plus one servant and three boarders ..].
Living next door in 1875 was the family of brother William.19  

Sarah and family were shown in the 1880 census (Jun 10 1880), apparently living in a boarding house or large apartment house in Brooklyn, New York:5

Sarah Richards Henshaw died about 1895, buried Sep 4 1895, Section 124 Lot 14574, Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn, New York.18  

John died Jan 1 1906, Kings County, New York; age 70.17,18  

Buried in the same plot with Sarah and John (these are probably additional children):18

Norma Charlotte, died Jul 12 1863, Kings County, New York, age 11 months; buried Jul 22 1864. 17
Cicero J. Charlotte, buried Mar 26 1869.
