ROY "SKIP" HINSHAW, JR.
Bondurant
Roy "Skip" Hinshaw, Jr., 59, of Bondurant, died Monday, January 19, 2004 at Mercy Hospice of lymphoma. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 23 at First Church of Christ in Ankeny, with burial in the Bondurant Cemetery.
Roy was born on July 15, 1944 in Appleton City, MO. He was a 1962 graduate of Tech High School in Des Moines, and had worked for Firestone until his retirement in 1994. Roy was a member of First Church of Christ, where he was on the Board of Trustees and had served as a Deacon. He was also a member of USW Union Local 310. Roy enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the Yankees.
He is survived by his wife, Zella Hinshaw of Bondurant; daughters, Carol Hinshaw of Altoona, and Shelly and husband Jasen of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Abigail and Luke Nelson; and two sisters, Wanda Vincent and Margie Scott, both of Chandler, AZ.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Altoona Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Mercy Hospice.
