Veta C. Henshaw
Veta Carleen Brill Henshaw, of Ruckersville, died Tuesday morning, April 27, 2004, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born April 22, 1924, at Brill's Shop, to the late E. P. and Emma Brill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Kennedy Henshaw and 12 of her 13 siblings. One sister, Alice Slaughter, survives her. In addition to her sister, survivors also include her sons, James A. and wife, Gayle and Maxwell K. and wife, Donna, of Ruckersville and a daughter, Janet Runkle and husband, Robert, of Stanardsville, to cherish her memory. She was the proud grandmother of Rhonda Mefferd and husband, Andy, M. K. (Ken) Henshaw, II, and wife, Donna, Jaime Henshaw, Dana Henshaw, Amy Runkle and Kati Runkle and a great-grandchild, Justin Henshaw. Veta was a devoted member of Westover United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg Road, at which a memorial service will be held Friday, April 30, at 2 p.m. A private interment will be held at her beloved home, Dundee Farm. Friends and family are welcome to visit at her residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research, c/o Dept. of Pediatric Endocrinology, P. O. Box 800386, Charlottesville, Virginia 22908 or to Westover United Methodist Church, 1202 Watson Road, Ruckersville, Virginia 22968. Ryan Funeral Home, Quinque, is in charge of arrangements.
