She married Thomas Gilmour, Sep 29 1868, CrossRigg, New Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1,2  

Thomas was a tilemaker.3  

Six children, one of whom was Thomas Gilmore, Jr. (1875-1934) was a victim of the Crarae Quarry Disaster of 1886 (a deadly release of gases and carbonic acid), from which he survived but suffered memory loss.  

Janet later moved to the Isle of Bute.3  

Janet Hinshaw died 1909, age 67.4  (1904).3
