According to Geno's obituary, it seems he apparently adopted the Henshaw name.6  

Eugene was shown in the 1930 census (Apr 2-3 1930) living in a "boarding" house with many other children (i.e. probably an orphanage, large foster home or school) in Portland, Oregon:7

On Nov 11 1941 Eugene D. Henshaw, born 1920, enlisted at Fort Lewis, Washington as a private in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  He declared he had four years of high school, was single, without dependents, employed as a "cashier or stock record clerk or bookkeeper".  He was recorded as 70" tall, 159 lbs.8  

He married Arlene Gwendolyn Lundbom, Jul 2 1942, Denver, Denver County, Colorado.1,5,9  Arlene, daughter of Ernest Theodore Lundbom & Emelie Myrtle Grace Anderson, was born May 1 1921, Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon.1,4,10  (Pleasant Home, Multnomah County, Oregon).9  

In 1993-2002 Geno was living in Gresham, Oregon.4,11

Eugene "Geno" Henshaw died on May 27, 2011 in Gresham, Oreogn at the age of 91.  Geno was born on January 10, 1920 in Everett, Washington to Alexander and Grace (Cunningham) Conn.  

Geno grew up in Southeast Portland.  He graduated from Corbett High School in 1938 where he was president of the student body.  He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.  

Geno married Arlene Lundbom on July 2, 1942 in Denver, Colorado.  He did some logging, then was in the banking industry, then served in the military, and eventually was a sheet metal worker.  Geno was a stalworth member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Interests included fishing, where he was a charter member of the northwest Steel headers Sandy River Chapter, an avid mushroom hunter, liked crossword puzzles, vegetable and floral gardening, built his own home and spent 25 active years for Zarephath Pantry organization.  

He spent some summers in Seaside, Oregon.  Geno was a long time Gresham and Corbett area resident.  

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Zarephath Kitchen and Pantry.  

Survivors include his loving wife Arlene, of Gresham, two sons, Roger Henshaw, of Vancouver, WA., and Keith Henshaw, of Portland, OR., daughter, Elaine Henshaw-Marshall, of Gresham, OR., six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  

Funeral service will be on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 507 W. Powell Blvd., in Gresham, Oregon followed by a committal burial service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.

Arlene died Jun 16 2011, age 90.9,10,12

Gresham resident Arlene G. Henshaw died Thursday, June 16.  She was 90.  

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 507 W. Powell Blvd.  Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.  

Arlene was born May 1, 1921, in Pleasant Home to Ernest and Emily MG (Anderson) Lundbom.  She was raised in Gresham and attended Lusted Grade School and Gresham High School, graduating in 1939.  

On July 2, 1942, she married Eugene David Henshaw of Corbett in Denver, Colo.  

Arlene worked as a model, secretary and organ teacher, but she was dedicated to being a mother and homemaker for her family.  

Arlene was a talented seamstress and cake decorator and also had a love of floral arranging and landscaping.  She was an avid reader and faithful correspondent.  

Arlene was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, volunteering on the altar guild and serving as communion assistant.  She was a member of the Orient Grade School Community Club and served on the Multnomah County Election Board for 30 years.  

Her husband preceded her in death in May 2011.  

Survivors include her sons, Roger Henshaw of Vancouver, Wash., and Keith Henshaw of Portland; daughter, Elaine Henshaw-Marshall of Gresham; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild with another on the way.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 507 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham, 97030.  

Gresham Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
