Max was shown in the 1940 census (Apr 11 1940), living in the household of brother Thomas and family, 1829 Bigley Avenue, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia:8

Henshaw, Maxwell, brother, age 21, born in West Virginia; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/city; single; occupation: truck driver, lumber mill.

He married Margaret M. Taylor.6  Margaret, daughter of William Washington Taylor & Lillian Mae Dooley, was born Feb 4 1923, Kanawha County, West Virginia.6,9  

Maxwell Franklin "Max" Henshaw died Jul 29 1964, Charleston General Hospital, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia; age 46y 3m 15d.6,7  

Max's obituary was published as follows:6

Mr. Henshaw, 46, of 239 Dutch Rd., who died suddenly Wednesday after he was admitted to Charleston General Hospital.  

He was an employee of the Heating and Cooling Corp. of Charleston and a deacon at Mount Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Knights of Pythias.  

Surviving are his widow, Margaret; son, Bill with the Air Force in California; daughters, Lillian Jean and Maxine, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Martha Henshaw of Nitro; four brothers, Allen, Dan, Tom and Charles, all of Charleston; six sisters, Mrs. Madge Conner of Dunbar, Mrs. Blanche Sayer of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Pauline Norman of Nitro, Mrs. Marjorie Parsons of Arizona, Mrs. Easter Tenny and Mrs. Barbara Litton, both of South Charleston.  

The body is at Elk Funeral Home.

Margaret remarried to James Nafe, Sr.6  

Margaret died Jun 19 2011, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia; buried Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, Kanawha County, West Virginia.6,9  

Margaret's obituary was published as follows:6

Margaret Nafe, 88, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2011.  

Born Feb. 4, 1923, She was the daughter of the late Lillian Dooley and William Washington Taylor.  

She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Maxwell Henshaw and James Nafe Sr.; daughter, Maxine Perry; sisters, Virginia Winfree and Pauline Sawyer; brother, William A. Taylor; and half sister, Karen Sue Taylor.  

Margaret was a Christian and a member of Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church.  

Margaret was an entrepreneur and the original founder of the Sears Beauty Salons in this area.  At different times in her career she was the owner/operator of Sears Beauty Salons in Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg, Youngstown, Ohio, and Ashland, Ky.  She served on the Board of Barbers and Beauticians.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  

Margaret was a very special lady and was loved by all who knew her.  She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends.  

Margaret is survived by her children and their spouses, William F. and Suzette Henshaw of Asheville, N.C., and Lillian Jean and Jerry Shaffer of Scott Depot; stepchildren and their spouses, James Jr. and Becky Nafe of Charleston, Steve and Sonja Nave of Brentwood, Tenn., and Patty and Ben Brown of Estill Springs, Tenn.; sister, Charlotte Bowers of Dunbar; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

A service to honor the life of Margaret Nafe will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston, with Pastor Mike Long officiating.  

Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.  

Visitation for family and friends will begin at noon Saturday at the church.  

Elk Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.  

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston, WV 25306
