Erwin's obituary was published in the "Tate County Democrat" (Tate County, Mississippi) on Thursday, May 2, 1968:⁶

Erwin Carroll Henshaw, 67, died at his home on Robinson Street late Tuesday, when flames engulfed the house, almost completely destroying it.  He was born in Senatobia on January 17, 1901 and married Eula Ethel Kopf on December 24, 1922.  He was an active member of the Church of Christ and was a ginner and carpenter.  Funeral services were held at the C. O. Pate Funeral Home with Mr. David Chadwell saying the final rites.  Burial was in the Crockett Church of Christ Cemetery.  He leaves his wife, Eula Kopf Henshaw of Senatobia; a son Warren Henshaw with the Red Cross Corps stationed in Vietnam; a daughter Mrs. Harry Pounders of Nesbit; two sisters Mrs. Annie Norfleet of Clarksdale and Mrs. Walter (Nora) Rodman of Senatobia and five grandchildren.  He was the son of the late Alice Barmer and John Henry Henshaw.  Pallbearers were Aubrey Kopf, Billy Kopf, Wade Rich, Johnny Brewer Jr. and Donald Brewer.

Eula died Sep 5 1986, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee; buried Crockett Church of Christ Cemetery, Crockett, Tate County, Mississippi.^1,3,5
