William Henshall

On leaving school in 1917, William went to work on the railway at the nearby Shrub Hill Station, where he remained for some six years. In June 1923, when he was 19 years of age, he applied to the Worcester Porcelain Company for a job, and started as a general factotum around the factory, working mainly in the maintenance department. After some six months he was transferred permanently to the mill where he remained until he retired in July 1969 after 46 years with the company.¹

He married Gladys Violet Lawrence, Mar 2 1929, Holy Trinity, Worcester, England.^2,3 Gladys, daughter of William Edward Lawrence & Julia Kate Thomas, was born Jun 24 1905, Worcester, England.^1,2

William Henshall died about 1972, Ronkswood Hospital, Worcester, England.¹ William died from silicosis of the lungs, caused by working for so many years in the dusty environment of the porcelain mill.¹

Gladys died Feb 12 1997, Worcester, England; buried Feb 20 1997, Astwood Cemetery, Worcester, England.¹
