He married Rebecka Patterson2,3,4 [Rebecca Patterson2], Mar 4 18262,3,4, Surry County, North Carolina2,3,4.  Rebecka was born Feb 22 1807, North Carolina.1  

A marriage bond was recorded for Benjamin Hinshaw & Rebecka Patterson on Mar 4, 1826, Surry County, North Carolina.4  

Benjamin Hinshaw died about 1827.  Benjamin died when his son Daniel was an infant, leaving Rebecca a widow with an infant child.  In 1828 she removed with Daniel to Greene County, Indiana.5  

On Mar 17 1836 Rebecca remarried to William Bynham in Greene County, Indiana.6,7  

William and Rebecca Bynum were shown in the 1850 census, Cass Township, Greene County, Indiana, as follows:8

William Bynum, age 75, born in Virginia; farmer; cannot read or write.
Rebecca ", age 42, born in North Carolina; cannot read or write.
Samuel Owens, age 17, born in Indiana; farmer; attended school.
Lewis G. ", age 14, born in Indiana.
Lawson Y. ", age 10, born in Indiana.
Mary ", age 8, born in Indiana.
Isaac ", age 6, born in Indiana.
Henry G. ", age 1, born in Indiana.

Rebecca Bynum was again shown in the 1860 census, Cass Township, Greene County, Indiana (page 748).9  

Rebecka died Dec 4 1865, Greene County, Indiana.1
