He married Ann Maria Corey3,5 [Ann Maria Cory1], Jun 16 18143,5 [Jun 21 18144], Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island3,5.  Ann of Providence, R.I. "of exceptional beauty".3  Ann, daughter of Ebenezer H. + Phebe Corey, was born Mar 25 1795, East Greenwich, Kent, Rhode Island.6,7  

Note that John named his first son George Holt Henshaw.  Apparently the Henshaw and Holt families were quite friendly: John's brother George married Maria Holt, sister Caroline married George Johnston Holt, and sister Esther married Charles Holt.  

John Leavitt Henshaw died 1832, Montreal, Canada.1,2,3  John died in the cholera epidemic of 1832, leaving a family of six children.  His younger brother Charles then took in the family and took on the role of father to John's children.1
