Frederick graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in the class of 1932^151,a (ranked 216 of 262).^a    Assigned to the Infantry and to the Adjutant General's Department.^a    Retired in 1960 with the rank of Colonel.^151,a    He was the first Hinshaw to have graduated from West Point, and one of only five Hinshaws ever to have graduated from West Point in its 195-year history.¹⁵¹
