He declared he was born October 17 1877, and was then residing at 823 Galena in Toledo, employed as a bottle worker with the Libby Glass Co. of Toledo. He declared his nearest relative was his father, William Henry Hinshaw of the same address. He was recorded as slender (and medium build), blue eyes, light hair.5
Leroy and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 14 1930), Veckerly Road, Monclova Township, Lucas County, Ohio:7
Hinshaw, Jasper, head-of-household, age 36, born in Indiana; father born in Indiana; mother born in Illinois; single; owned home ($1500 value); radio in home; occupation: freight handler, electric railway; World War I veteran.

On Apr 27 1942 Roy Belmont Hinshaw, age 64, registered for the World War II draft in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He declared he was born Oct 17 1877 in Winchester, Indiana, and was then residing at 2041 Giant St. in Toledo; unemployed. He declared his relative/contact was Mrs. Marie Hagemeister of the same address. He was recorded as 5' tall, 120 lbs., blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, and "left eye defective".8
Leroy probably died before 1951, as the 1951 death record of brother Jasper does not show Leroy among the survivors.9
