The following obituary appeared in "The Des Moines Register", on Tuesday, February 7, 1995:2
Garry I. Hinshaw, 59, of Kellogg died of a respiratory ailment Sunday at Veterans Medical Center in Knoxville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, with burial at Rock Creek Cemetery. Mr. Hinshaw lived in Kellogg all his life except while serving in the Air Force, from which he retired after 20 years. He was a member of Ben Morgan American Legion post. Survivors include a son, Nicky of Cross Roads, La.; three daughters, Vicki Alexander of Knoxville, Debbie Parks of Coushatta, La., and Kathy Powell of Castor, La.; two brothers, Robert of Kellogg and Roger of Newton; a sister, Betty Modlin of Kellogg; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
