He married Rebecca Jane Fields, Dec 22 1880, Bland County, Virginia.1,2  Rebecca was born Jun 12 1860, Smyth County, Virginia.1  

Due to simple confusion over mail delivery, William changed his name to William Shanshew.2  

William and Rebecca were shown in the 1920 census (Feb 5-7 1920), Grant Township, Antelope County, Nebraska:4

Henshew, William, head-of-household, age 61, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; rented home; occupation: farmer, general farm.
Henshew, Beckie, wife, age 60, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia.

William Humphrey Hanshew died Sep 22 1920, Tilden, Antelope County, Nebraska; buried Sep 24 1920, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tilden, Nebraska.1  

Rebecca died Apr 5 1941, Tilden, Antelope County, Nebraska; buried Apr 8 1941, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tilden, Nebraska.1
