Born Dec 8 1830, Ontario, Canada.^2,3,4  (c1829, England).⁵  

There is conflicting data on Daniel's birthplace.  In the 1851 census Daniel was shown as born in England.⁵  But in both the 1871 and the 1901 censuses he was shown as born in Ontario.^2,3  The Henshaw family emigrated from England to Ontario, Canada in 1830, the year Daniel was born.¹  It is still unclear at what time of year they arrived in Ontario, therefore Daniel's place of birth is still unconfirmed (there is even the possibility that he was born en route).¹  

According to family folklore, due to a family feud, Daniel started to spell his name "Hanshaw" in order to be different from the Henshaws.¹  

He married Charlotte Gilroy.⁴  Charlotte was born Mar 19 1838, New Brunswick.^1,3  

Daniel Henshaw was shown in the 1871 census, Ontario, Canada, as follows:³

Charlotte died Jun 25 1870, Thorndale, Middlesex County, Ontario; buried Zion Cemetery, Middlesex County, Ontario.¹  

Daniel was again shown in the 1901 census, West Nissouri, Middlesex County, Ontario:²

Daniel Henshaw died Apr 9 1922, Thorndale, Middlesex County, Ontario; buried Zion Cemetery, Middlesex County, Ontario.^1,4
