He married Elizabeth Coppin, Feb 16 1824, Kirkby On Bain, Lincolnshire, England.^b,c,d,e    (Elizabeth Copping)^d    Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Coppin & Elizabeth Greetham, was born in 1801, Kirkby On Bain, Lincolnshire, England.^b,f    Christened Mar 19 1801, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Coppin of Fulsby Mill.^f

A family story relates that Samuel was the son of the butler in the Coppin home in Lincolnshire, England.    Both sets of parents disapproved of the relationship between Samuel and Elizabeth and tried to break them up.    Eventually the young people emmigrated to Canada to escape interference.^f

Samuel and Elizabeth lived in England.^e    They emmigrated about 1830 and settled in West Nissouri Township, Ontatio, Canada.^b

Samuel and family were shown in the 1851 census (as of 11 Jan, 1852), West Nissouri Township, Ontario (ages as of next birthday):^g

Elizabeth died Dec 6 1890, West Nissouri Township, Middlesex County, Ontario; buried Clipperton Cemetery, West Nissouri Township, Ontario.^a
