A family story relates that Samuel was the son of the butler in the Coppin home in Lincolnshire, England. Both sets of parents disapproved of the relationship between Samuel and Elizabeth and tried to break them up. Eventually the young people emmigrated to Canada to escape interference.1
Samuel and Elizabeth lived in England.2 They emmigrated about 1830 and settled in West Nissouri Township, Ontatio, Canada.7
