During World War I, Walter enlisted in the Air Corps and was mustered out in 1918 as a lieutenant.1 On Jun 5 1917 Walter Anderson Henshaw, age 24, registered for the World War I draft in East St. Louis, St. Clair County, Illinois. He declared he was born February 6th 1893 in Carterville, Illinois, and he was then single and residing at 6 [unclear] W. 9th St., East St. Louis, Illinois. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, dark hair.10
He married Dorothy Lois Walsh, about 1920.1,2,3 Dorothy, daughter of Phillip R. + Florence Walsh, was born Aug 4 1901, Emerson, Dixon County, Nebraska.2,3,8,9,13
Walter and Dorothy ("Ruth") were shown in the 1920 census, living in what appears to have been a boarding house in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri:8

Walter's second marriage was noted in the "San Antonio Express" (San Antonio, Texas) on Sunday morning, April 29, 193416 (see below).
In 1948 Walter was living in San Antonio, Texas and was engaged in the oil industry.1
In 1966 Walter was still living in San Antonio, Texas.13
Walter Anderson Henshaw died Oct 18 1966, DOA, Robert B. Green Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas; age 73.3,5,11,13,14,16
Walter's obituary was published in the "San Antonio Express" (San Antonio, Texas) on Thursday, October 20, 196614,16 (see below).
