Frederick was shown in the 1880 census (Jun 19 1880), living in a boarding house in Center Township, Smith County, Kansas:6

Henshaw, Fred L., boarder, age 26, born in Massachusetts; father born in Ohio; mother born in New Hampshire; single; occupation: printer.

He married Caroline Erset "Callie" Woodward, Oct 5 1882.1  Caroline, daughter of Ephraim Woodward & Martha Ann Ogg1,3, was born Mar 24 18651,3 [about 18682], Indianola, Warren County, Iowa1,3.  

Frederick and family resided for a time at Concord, Washington,1 later settling in Alaska.4

Callie and children were shown in the 1900 census (Jun 15 1900), Eagle Harbor Precinct, Kitsap County, Washington:3

Henshaw, Callie, head-of-household, age 35, born Mar 1865 in Iowa; father born in New York; mother born in Ohio; married 17 years; 3 children, 2 living; owned home (mortgaged).
Henshaw, Henry, son, age 16, born Oct 1883 in Kansas; father born in Massachusetts; mother born in Iowa; attended school 7 months.
Henshaw, Fredirick, son, age 14, born Dec 1885 in Kansas; father born in Massachusetts; mother born in Iowa; attended school 9 months.

Fred L. Henshaw was listed in a 1901 directory of Alaska Yukon gold rush participants.  He was listed as a printer on Douglas Island, Alaska.7  

Frederick Ledyard Henshaw died Oct - 1906, buried Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Seattle, King County, Washington.8  

After Frederick died, Callie remarried to a W.M. Guse, Nov 18 1905,9,10 and was again widowed.10,11  

Widow Callie (twice widowed) was shown in the 1920 census living in the household of her son Henry:10

Guse [unclear], Callie E., mother, age 54, born in Iowa; parents born in Ohio; widow.

Caroline died Sep 9 1946, Bremerton, Washington; age 81.12
