Born Jun 6 1837, Eaton, Madison County, New York.^b,c

During the Civil War, Eldridge served in Company K, 6th Iowa Volunteer Infantry; enlisted Jul 12 1861; mustered Jul 18 1861; mustered out Jul 18 1864 after expiration of term of service.^a    He claimed residency in Galesburg, Illinois, a native of New York.^a    He also served in Company D, 6th Illinois Regiment.^d    He then listed his residence as Chicago.^d

Eldridge Golden Henshaw died Aug 7 1867, Plum Creek, Missouri.^b    Ethridge was killed in a railroad accident.^b
