She married Thomas Jefferson Chesher.1 Thomas, son of John Thomas Chesher & Mary Cotner, was born 1848, Grainger County, Tennessee.4 Thomas was the brother of John Henry Chesher who married Samantha's sister Amanda.4 This was Thomas' second marriage;1 he had been previously married to Carolina Tally, by whom he had three children.4

Archie Lee Chesher, born Jun 2 1889.
This family reportedly moved to Texas;1 however this probably occured after Caroline's death.5
Thomas died before Jun 5 1900.3
Samantha Caroline Hinshaw died Jun 10 1900.1
Just five days before Samantha Caroline died, on Jun 5 1900, the federal census was taken in Grainger County, Tennessee. Caroline was recorded as a widow, living in her mother's household:3
Chesher, Caroline, daughter, age 42, born Jan 1858 in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; widow; 2 children, 2 living.
Chesher, Arch, grandson, age 17, born Aug 1882 in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee; single; farmer.
Perhaps Caroline was ill and being cared for by her mother.5 Note that son Thomas Harrison Chesher was not living with Caroline in 1900.
