Living next door in 1940 were Homer's parents and siblings.11
Homer James Hanshaw died Mar - 1975, buried Hively Cemetery, off Rt. 36 two miles south of Wallback, Clay County, West Virginia.5,8
Mary died Apr 14 2009, age 89.10

Mary Hanshaw, 89, of Ashland, OH, formerly of Valley Fork, entered into rest Tuesday, April 14, 2009.
Born August 25, 1919, in Clay County to the late William Ernest and Susie (Lyons) Sutton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Hanshaw, sons Billy Hanshaw, Jim Hanshaw, grandson Brian Darr, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Mary was a retired cook for Valley Fork grade school, Valley Fork, WV.
She is survived by her daughters Dee (Dale) Satterfield of Ashland, OH., Carol (Ronnie) Causey of Richfield, OH., Norma (Richard) Darr of Medina, OH., sons Paul Hanshaw of Valdese, N.C., Henry (Karen) Hanshaw of Tallmadge, OH., Spencer Hanshaw of Vinton, Va., 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sister Willa (Ed) Williams of Stow, Oh., and John P. (Emma) Sutton, Orlando, Fla.,
Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 at Hively Cemetery, Valley Fork, WV., with Minister Jerry Hanshaw officiating.
Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, is in charge of arrangements.
