HENSHAW, Francis Alfred - 87, Bear River, passed away September 16, 2005, in Digby General Hospital.  Born in Bear River, he was the son of the late Carey and Lottie (Doucette) Henshaw.  Francis was a paint foreman for Wagg and Woodworth paint contractors for many years and he was an inspector for D.V.A. at Cornwallis in later years.  He was Past President of the Deep Brook and Waldec Lions Club.  Francis was an avid bird watcher.  Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothea Morgan; daughter, Marilyn (Donald) Beattie, Karsdale, Annapolis Co.; grandchildren, Tony and Craig Timper, Greenland; Dwayne Beattie, Ottawa; Susan Chalmers, Colbrook; great-grandchildren, Ezra, Janelle, Emma, Alex, and Georgia, and special family friend, Seretha Balcom.  He was predeceased by children, Keith, Sandra and Carey in infancy.  Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, September 19, in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby, with Rev. Donald Scheels officiating.  Interment will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
