Sarah A. Henshaw1 [Sally Henshaw2, Sallie Henshaw1,3].

Born about 1795, Orange County, Virginia.2,4  (1799).1,3  

She married Francis K. Cowherd2,3 [Frank Cowherd1], Oct 23 18152,3, Orange County, Virginia2,3.  Francis, son of Francis Cowherd & Lucy Scott, was born Orange County, Virginia.3  

Note that Sallie's brother John married Francis' sister, Sarah Cowherd.  Also, Francis' brother, John Scott Cowherd, was the father of John Peyton Cowherd who married Sallie's niece Phillipa Anne Henshaw.  

Children:3

Lucy Cowherd, born 1820; died 1879; married Daniel White.
Charles J. Cowherd, born c1827, Virginia; married Emily Strother.
Henry F. Cowherd, born c1845, Missouri.
Possibly more (reportedly seven total). 1

Sallie and Frank had a farm in or near Calloway County, Missouri.1  Sallie's brother John and his wife moved to a nearby farm, but they later both took ill and died.  John's children were then left with Frank and Sallie who raised them along with their own children.5  

Sarah & Francis and family were shown in the 1850 census (Sep 27 1850), Jackson County, Missouri:4

Cowherd, Francis K., age 59, born in Virginia; farmer; $16,800 real estate.
Cowherd, Sarah A., age 55, born in Virginia.
Cowherd, Chas J., age 23, born in Virginia.
Cowherd, Henry F., age 5, born in Missouri.
Truman, Richard J., age 1 1/2 years (or 1 year 1 month), born in Missouri.
Living next door in 1850 was the family of an Edmund Cowherd, age 35,6 who might have been an additional child.7  

Francis died in Jackson County, Missouri.3
