On Sep 12 1918 Chellie Abry Hinchey, age 18, registered for the World War I draft in Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina.  He declared he was born March 7 1900, and was then residing on Route 2, Wilkesboro where he was employed in farming by Calvin Hinchey.  He declared his nearest relative was Calvin Hinchey of the same address.  He was recorded as tall, medium build, blue eyes, dark hair.5  

He married Eunice Walker, Jul 27 1919, at the bride's home, North Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina.7,9  Eunice, daughter of Eliaha L. Walker & Amanda J. Hayes, was born about 1900, North Carolina.7,9  

He then married Charlotte Elizabeth Morris10 [Charlotte Elizabeth (Morris) Steagall10, Charlote Elizabeth Stagall11], after 193010.  Charlotte was born Mar 7 1900, Virginia.10,11,12  Charlotte was the sister of Mae Morris who married Chellie's brother John Quincey.4  She had been previously married, then widowed, and had four daughters: Georgia C., Frances O., Marie E. and Irene M. Stagall.4,11  

Chellie Abry Hinchey died Nov 29 1939, Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia; buried Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery, Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia.10  Medical: Chellie died from tuberculosis.4  

Charlotte died Sep 2 1968, Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia; buried Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery, Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia.10,12
