Michael Brown, age 69, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, CA, on May 29, 2010, following a brief illness.
He was born on May 9, 1941, in Sacramento, CA.
After high school, Michael joined the Army in 1959 as a paratrooper. He attended California State University Sacramento and then later in life moved to Nevada where he became a Nevada Highway Patrol officer. After he left the NHP, Michael returned to California where he resided in Igo and worked as a security guard for Mercy Medical Center. After his retirement, he continued to volunteer at Mercy in supplies distribution. He was dearly loved and will be terribly missed.
Michael is survived by his wife, Shirley, sons Geoffrey Brown, Christopher Brown, daughter Michelle Fischer, sister Pat Hibbard and his grandchildren.
Interment was held on June 14, 2010, at the Veteran's Cemetery, Igo, CA.
At Michael's request, there were no services other than a small Honors ceremony.
To respect Michael's commitment to the community within which he lived and his love of animals, donations may be made to the Mercy Medical Center Guild or the Humane Society.
