Robert "Bob" Harold Henshaw Robert "Bob" Harold Henshaw, 59, of Brookings, died April 27, 2005, at a local hospital of complications after a heart attack.
He was born Jan. 22, 1946, in Marysville, Calif., to Harold Junior and Betty Florence Bebout Henshaw.
He was raised in the Marysville area.
After graduation, he worked at his father's furniture store delivering furniture. He attended Yuba College for a brief time.
He married Cathryn Jewel Sanders Oct. 23, 1964, in Yuba County, Calif. The couple made their first home in San Francisco before moving to Marysville. Mr. Henshaw began working at Sunset Molding in Live Oak, Calif., where he learned the skill of knife grinding and was employed for 32 years, until his retirement in 1996.
The Henshaws moved to Brookings in 1996.
Mr. Henshaw collected guns and was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). He belonged to the Yuba-Sierra Pomona Grange, operated a Ham radio, enjoyed fast cars and boats, water-skied, enjoyed music and computers and played the electric guitar. His family was his main focus and throughout his life he was known to be a hard-working man.
He had attended the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Cathryn, of Brookings; sons and daughters-in-law David and Jane Henshaw of Brookings, Troy and Rhea Henshaw of Colton; brother and sister-in-law Ron and Nancy Henshaw of Yuba City; aunts and uncles Nadine and Elvin Taylor of Yuba City, Evelyn and Rex Holverson of Battleground, Wash.; grandson Shane Sawyer Henshaw of Brookings.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today (May 4) at W.J. Ward Memorial Cemetery, Rev. Rick Green officiating.
