Spelled variously Heinsher,2,7 Hensher,2,7,8 Hencheff,7 Henshow,7 Hincher,7 Hinshaw,7 Hinshew,7 or Hunsher.7  Later records use the Henshaw spelling.2

Born about 1650, probably England.7

Thomas is believed to have emmigrated to the American colonies about 1670.9

From the Woburn records of marriages in April 1672:10

"Thomas Henshaw and Thomas Hall, singlemen of Woburn, being convicted of living from under family government, are ordered forthwith to submit themselves to family government as the law directs and to appear at next Court and bring with them certificate thereof".

He married Hannah Cleveland1,3,11,12 [Hannah Cleaveland2], Sep 24 16771,3,11,12, Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts1,3,11,12.  Hannah, daughter of Moses Cleveland & Ann Winn, was born Aug 4 1653, Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3,4,11,13

Thomas Henshaw died Jan 16 1700, Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2,4,7

Hannah died Jan 16 1737, Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.4,11

Thomas Henshaw first appeared at Woburn 1672, taxed in the list for meetinghouse rate.  His name is not in the Tax List for 1666, nor among those who had right in the common lands of Woburn, of 1668.  Evidently he was an immigrant from England prior to 1672.  He was a soldier in King Philip's war.  Mass. Archives, LXVIII: 134-Thomas Henshaw credited under Lt. Edward Oakes L01. 11s. 04d. and under Maj. Simon Willard, Sept. 17, 1675, L 04.  Many years afterwards he was wounded in battle with the Indians and died from the effects.1

A short biographical sketch of Thomas was published in the 1860 "Genealogical Dictionary of First Settlers of New England" [edited here only to eliminate abbreviations]:14,15
