He declared he was born May 20 1895 in Madison County, Indiana, and was then residing at 1626 Nort [sic] E Street, Elwood, Madison County, Indiana, employed by the U.S. Post Office Dept. He declared his relative/contact was Mrs. Grace L. Hancher of the same address. He was recorded as 5' 7 3/4" tall, 165 lbs., blue eyes, light hair, light complexion.⁷

On Jun 7 1951 Ross A. Hancher was appointed as Postmaster of Elwood, Madison County, Indiana.¹² He retired on Apr 30 1963.¹²

Ross Adrian Hancher died Mar - 1986, Indiana; buried Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Madison County, Indiana.^8,9
