Sometime before 1812 Increase moved from Brookfield, Massachusetts to Bethany, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, where he began a weekly newspaper.    In 1816 his brother Eli also moved to Bethany.g,h
Increase and family were shown in the 1830 census, Bethany Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania:e
Inrease's wife's name is not known with certainty, but a History of Wayne County, Pennsylvania stated that his wife was most probably Hester Bishop, daughter of John & Mary Bishop.h    The 1850 shows his wife but the handwriting is somewhat ambiguous, appearing to be Parna or similarj (perhaps a nickname?).
