of Kalamazoo, MI
formerly of Kokomo, INDied Wednesday morning, September 4, 2002 in Kalamazoo. Jane was born June 11, 1915 in Huntington, IN a daughter of Clarence E. and Denzle (Carson) Hinshaw. She attended Indiana University and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kokomo, IN. She was also a active in the Clara Drake Circle at the church, a member of Chapter C of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and PSI Iota XI. On October 8, 1939 she was united in marriage with Roger W. Briney, who preceded her in death on November 15, 1981. Mrs. Briney was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters. In 1999, she moved to Kalamazoo, MI to be closer to her sons in Michigan. Jane became an associate member of First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo. Surviving are 2 sons and their wives, R. David and Martha Briney of Gaylord, MI, and Bruce H. and Cheryl Briney of Kalamazoo, MI; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:00 Monday afternoon at Eller's Mortuary, Inc., 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, IN 46902, 765-457-6644. Interment in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery will follow services. Friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-6 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Jane's memory may be directed to Campus Crusade for Christ at Indiana University, 4604 Compton Blvd., Bloomington, IN 47401. Funeral arrangements coordinated by Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord, MI, Langeland Family Funeral Homes in Kalamazoo, MI, and Eller's Mortuary in Kokomo, IN.
