Charles Hinshaw

Born about 1841, Williamson County, Illinois.^1,2 Charles shown age 9 in the 1850 census, Williamson County, Illinois.¹

A Charles E. Hinshaw, from Williamson County, Illinois (probably this Charles) served during the Civil War in Company G, 120th Illinois Infantry.^3,4 He enlisted as a private on Aug 22 1862.⁵ A William Hinshaw, also from Williamson County, joined the same unit³ on the very same date⁵ (this was very probably Charles' brother William).

Charles Hinshaw died Feb 21 1863^2,4 [Jan 11 1863⁶]; buried Elmwood Cemetery, near Memphis, Tennessee - reinterred to Mississippi River National Cemetery, near Memphis, Tennessee^2,4.
