This is a church and parish in what is today
at the northern edge of the city of
Liverpool, in
Lancashire.
Has an ancient Norman church.
The vicarage of Walton was founded in 1326.
The oldest register from the parish still in existence dates from 1587.
In 1699 Liverpool was made a parish separate from Walton.
The parish of Walton is
in the deanry of Warrington, and a township united with Fazackerley.
The parish contains, beside the parish church (which is 3 miles N. of
Liverpool) five chapels of ease.
Although the living is a rectory, the church is a
vicarage, the patrons of which are the lay impropriators of the rectory.
Several ancient Henshawe birth/marriage records are from Walton on the Hill.

Henshaw/Henshawe
A "place" name (either a tiny village or a family hall), variously
reputed to be either:
A description of Henshaw hall of Siddington, which passed into the hands of the Thornycroft family in 1712, can be found in the recorded pedigree "Thornycroft of Thornycroft and Henshaw of Henshaw" by George King, R.D. 1687, ordered to be entered by Henry, Duke of Norfolk, Nov 28, 1687. It describes it as follows: "Henshaw Hall is a stone building which has been modernised. It was surrounded by a square moat, some portions of which are still visible. Over the entrance doorway is a large stone slab bearing the following inscription, in capitals:

This was the home of the Henshaws of Henshaw - see William Henshaw. Henshaw is also noticed in the Domesday book as Hofinchel, under the same head with Henbury, q.v. pg 351, col 1.

Goshen Cemetery
Behind Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, near Wilton, Boone County, Missouri.
Directions: take US 63 South from Columbia to Ashland.
Then take Route M West to Wilton, about 8 miles).
Make a left turn one block before then end of Rt M (the old Methodist Church
is on the right in poor condition), and go past an S turn up the hill to the
Goshen Baptist Church.
The cemetery is across the street.
The pastor of the Goshen Church said that they have had several instances of
the graves being disturbed, and the headstones were replaced the best they
could, but the cemetery was never platted, and no one was ever charged
for burial.
Millersburg Cemetery
At the site of an old Methodist Church (no longer present),
south of Millersburg, Boone County, Missouri.
Directions: take Rt. WW east of Columbia, to
Millersburg, then South on Rt J. about 3 miles.
The cemetery is on the
right and there is a mailbox with an address of 5841 at the entrance.
