This used to be my closely guarded secret, but someone has convinced me to share it with the world. These are my online "sources", the sites I read regularly to keep myself "in the know". I have plenty more bookmarks I could share, but these are the biggies.
ZDNet News (for the news bursts which I check every few hours)
FEED (for the neat little links at the end of the main article; source of my best random links)
Yahoo What's New (daily what's new; my goal was to have Purple Moon listed here on the day we launched and it was. I printed it out and stuck it in on my cube as a personal victory, though I had not much to do with it.)
NY Times - if the recycling bin wasn't four stories down I would get the NYX on paper. I used to read it every single day when I lived in Connecticut ('cept Sundays which my dad didn't like to deal with; again the recycling quantities!) . It is Quality newswriting. I especially enjoy the food/dining articles and Metropolitan Diary. Truth is, I read this because I grew up under the influence of the New York media and I miss it. Thank goodness it is available online.
Salon Magazine - Eclectica. I often skip the polical coverage, but their Tuesday Blue Glow always tells you what's coming up on Buffy. 'nuff said.
Online Journalism Review - a very unique site and the only place where I found links to level-headed Kevin Mitnick coverage.
I often poke my trackball into slashdot.org
and The Onion, but I usually hear enough
about these from other people. And now I do a lot of weblog reading.
