He married Maria Wit, Jun 14 1899, Holy Angels Church, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.^2,14,15  Maria Wit was born Nov 17 1874, near Prague, Austria (now Czech Republic).^11,16,17  

The family bible includes a marriage certificate reading:

"This Certifies that P. C. Foster [sic] of Chicago and Marie Witt of Chicago were united by me in the Bond of Holy Matrimony According to the rite of the Holy Roman Catholic Church at Holy Angels Church on the 14th day of June in the year of our Lord 1899".

Philip was an electrician.^5,7

Philip's obituary was published in the "Chicago Tribune" (Chicago, Illinois) on April 17, 1947:²⁴

Philip C. Forster, beloved husband of Marie Forster, loving father of the Rev. A. J. Forster, Frank, Philip Jr., Leo, and Mrs. Lillian Hinshaw.  Funeral Friday, 8:45 a.m., from his late residence, 7621 S. Maria Wit died Apr 17 1963, Colonial Nursing Home, South Holland, Cook County, Illinois; 5:30 A.M., age 88.¹⁶
