On Jun 5 1917 Cyrus Taylor Hinshaw, age 24, registered for the World War I draft in Chaves County, New Mexico.  He declared he was born February 11th 1893 in Newton, Iowa, and was then residing in Hagerman, [Chaves County,] New Mexico where he was occupied as a "stock hand and stockman", employed by R.C. Morrman of Hagerman.  He declared he was single, with a dependent mother.  He was recorded as tall, slender, grey eyes, brown hair.6  

He married Clarice Pansy Johnson, about 1926, New Mexico.1,2,3  Clarice was born Dec 15 1899, Texas.3,4  

Cyrus and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 5 1930), Oilfield Township, Eddy County, New Mexico:3

Hinshaw, Cyrus T., head-of-household, age 37, born in Iowa; parents born in Iowa; first married at age 33; occupation: [..unclear..], oil field; not a war veteran.
Hinshaw, Clarice, wife, age 30, born in Texas; parents born in Texas; first married at age 26.
Hinshaw, Ida Clarice, daughter, age 2 years 10 months, born in New Mexico; father born in Iowa; mother born in Texas.
Hinshaw, Olen Russel, son, age 1 year 4 months, born in New Mexico; father born in Iowa; mother born in Texas.

In 1969 Cyrus was living in/near Hope, Eddy County, New Mexico.4  

Cyrus Taylor Hinshaw died Dec - 1969.4  Probated Sep 14 1971, Eddy County, New Mexico.7  

In 1995 Clarice was living in/near Midland, Midland County, Texas.4  

Clarice died Aug 27 1995, El Paso County, Texas.4,8
