Ronald Hinshaw
Ronald "Buck" Hinshaw, 70, of 911 S. Long Lake Rd., Traverse City, died Monday at Munson Medical Center after a short illness.
The son of Frank and Eula Hinshaw, he was born May 22, 1906, at Traverse City where in 1935 he was married to Ruby Monroe, who died in 1959.
Mr. Hinshaw lived in the Grand Traverse area most of his life. He was active in sports at Traverse City High School and was a member of the football team in 1923-25. He also attended Michigan State University and Alma College and played football for both schools.
A school teacher, he retired in 1969. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wilford. Surviving are a son, Thomas of Alba; three daughters, Jan Elliot, of Grawn, Ruth Miller of Flint and Ann Maurina of Grand Rapids, and six grandchildren.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Reynolds-Hanson Funeral Home with the Rev. William W. Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
