Lillian Kingery Hanshaw
Lillian Kingery Hanshaw, 92 of Hurricane, formerly of Eleanor, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Teays Valley Center.
She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent most of her childhood in Low Gap, Boone County, before moving to the town of Eleanor, where she was an original homesteader.
Born July 3, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. and Carlie Faye Stollings Kingery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don E. Hanshaw; a sister, Sylvia Armour of California; a brother, John Kingery of Utah; a grandson, Jerry Morris, and a great-grandson, Andy Woody.
She is survived by her daughters, Dolores Sayre of Racine, Sylvia "Tibby" Smith of Buffalo, and Carla Dunn of Teays Valley; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Eleanor.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
