He married Margaret Elizabeth Trogden1,8,9,10 [Margaret Elizabeth Trogdon11], Dec 25 18511,8,9,10, Grainger County, Tennessee1,8,9,10.  Margaret, daughter of Soloman Trogdon & Elizabeth Mincey, was born about 1830, Tennessee.1,2,3,4,11,12  

A marriage bond was recorded for Golden Hinshaw & Margaret Elizabeth Trogden on Dec 24 1851, Grainger County, Tennessee.  They were married the following day (Christmas day) by D. P. Morris, "Minister of the Gospel".  Golden's brother, Jacob Hinshaw, was the recorded bondsman.8

Widow Margaret was again shown in the 1900 census (Jun 5 1900) living in the household of her son John in Grainger County, Tennessee:15

Margaret died 1917, Grainger County, Tennessee; age 90.16
