He married Ila Florence Burnap, 1906.^{1,12,94,205,e,f}    Ila, daughter of Harlan P. + Elisabeth Burnap, was born Oct - 1882, Pennsylvania.^g    (c1886).^f

At one time Ila sang soprano with her brother-in-law William Wade Hinshaw, together in "The Hinshaw Grand Opera Quartette" (see postcard photo below).

Ila died Dec 24 1912, Oak Park Hospital, Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois; age 30; buried Forest Home Cemetery, Roosevelt Rd. & Des Plains Ave., Cook County, Illinois.^j,k,l    Death certificate #00017204.^j    Ila died suddently;^h she had been giving a singing lesson at the conservatory on Christmas Eve, then fainted^h (or fell),^l and was taken to the hospital where she died.^h,l

Ila's death was noted in "The Day Book" (Chicago, Illinois) on December 26, 1912^l (see scan below).

On Sep 9 1918 John Arno Hinshaw, age 37, registered for the World War I draft in Chicago.    His residence was recorded as 725 N. Central, Chicago.    He was recorded as tall, slender, brown eyes, dark brown hair; occupation: "conducts school of music", Hinshaw Conservatory, 304 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago.    He listed his nearest relative as Marvin V. Hinshaw, 725 N. Central Ave., Chicago.^a

John was shown in the 1920 census (Jan 5 1920) living in the household of his brother Marvin at 725 N. Central Ave., Chicago, Illinois.^m

He then married Bessie Elizabeth Phillips, 1923.^12,94,205,e    Bessie was born Nov 22 1892, New York.^b,c,d,209

John and Bessie were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 12 1930), Gary Ave., Milton Township, DuPage County, Illinois:^d

Bessie died Jul 9 1988, buried Section OAK, Grandview Cemetery, Batavia, Genesee County, New York.^b,c,209
