JACOB C. HINSHAW EX-DIXON AUTO SHOP OWNER
Mr. Hinshaw, 85, died Sunday in a Carmichael convalescent hospital. Born in Iowa, he was raised in Gridley and then moved to Sacramento, where he worked for a local automotive repair business. He moved then moved to Dixon, where he owned his own repair shop before retiring and returning to Sacramento. Mr. Hinshaw was a founding member of First Baptist Church of Carmichael and was a member of the American Riflemen's Association and Dixon Boat Club. He is survived by his wife, Jessie of Sacramento; daughter, Margaret Ritenour of Clovis; stepchildren, Fern Massey and Joy Murphy, both of Sacramento, and Dean Lewis of Rapid City, S.D.; sister, Helena Viet of Fair Oaks, Ivyl Leonard of Carmichael and Cecil Houseworth of Maglia, Butte County; and two grandchildren.
