She married John Townsley, Dec 14 1840, Grainger County, Tennessee.1,2 John, son of Thomas Townsley.1
Mary Hinshaw died about 1841.1
Mary apparently had a child named Thomas Townsley, born about 1841, as a child Thomas Townsley was shown living with Mary's parents in both the 1850 and 1870 censuses.3,4 (And given the proximity of Thomas' birth and Mary's death, it might be assumed that Mary might have died in childbirth).5
Mary had a grandchild named Mary Townsley, born about 1872-18746,7 (probably Mary C. Townsley, daughter of Thomas & Mary E. Townsley,8 believed to be the same Thomas Townsley as above).5
Mary's grandchild, Mary Townsley, was shown in the 1900 census (Jun 4 1900), living with her great aunt Anna (Hinshaw) Duff in Grainger County, Tennessee:6

Mary's grandchild, Mary Townsley, was again shown in the 1910 census (May 6 1910), living with her great aunt Anna (Hinshaw) Duff and cousin Sam Hinshaw in Grainger County, Tennessee:7 Townsley, Mary, head-of-household, age 38, born in Tennessee; father born in Tennessee; mother born in Kentucky; single; occupation: none.
