(December 16, 1943 - December 25, 2011)Judith Ann (Taylor) Hinshaw, a Cushing resident, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 in the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 68 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the First Baptist Church, Depew, OK with Pastor Dean Stafford officiating. Burial will follow the Oakdale Cemetery, Depew, OK.
The daughter of the late Arthur Wesley Taylor and Alice Marie (Rideout) Taylor, Judy was born on December 16, 1943 in Glenpool, OK. She was reared and educated in Glenpool, graduating from Glenpool High School with the class of 1962. Judy was united in marriage to Delbert Hinshaw on May 24, 1963 in Keifer [sic], OK and to this union four children, Howard, Douglas, Bryan, and Kimberley were born.
Judy loved the Lord and put him first in her life. This was evident in everything she did, from supporting her husband in various capacities at the churches he pastored, which included Jennings, Depew, and most recently Cushing, to teaching Sunday School and staffing at numerous youth camps. Judy will be remembered as a vigilant prayer warrior. Even in her last days while in the Hillcrest Medical Center, she would be found praying for the many patients, nurses and those being transported by the air ambulances.
Judy set forth a great legacy by teaching her family to read the bible every day. She loved to sing with her family, spend time with her grandchildren, and anything Elvis.
Survivors include her husband Delbert of the home; four children, Howard Arthur Hinshaw and his wife Dena of Bristow, Douglas Allen Hinshaw and his wife Tonya of Sand Springs, OK, Bryan Glen Hinshaw and his wife Katrina of Depew, OK and Kimberley Alice Leatherwood and her husband Scott of Cushing; one brother, Homer Wesley Taylor and his wife Rose Mary of Glenpool, OK; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverna Hancock and Sandra Taylor; one grandson, Christopher Allen Hinshaw; and her best friend, Betty Romine.
Delbert currently (2012) resides in Cushing, Payne County, Oklahoma.1
