Esther's obituary was published in "The Oregonian" (Portland, Oregon) on November 1, 1997:3
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, in First Christian Church in St. Helens for Esther H. Hinshaw, who died Oct. 29 at age 80.
Mrs. Hinshaw was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Del Norte, Colo. Her maiden name was Hosselkus. In 1935, she married Hayden H., who died in 1983. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hinshaw served as state chaplain for the Daughters of the American Revolution and held several offices for the Mount St. Helens Chapter of the DAR.
Survivors include her sons, Hayden Harold Jr. of Reedsport and Wayne of Troutdale; daughters, Lorana Ray of Florence and Linda Res of St. Helens; brother, Bert Hosselkus of St. Louis; sister, Mildred Hoffman of Sequim, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery in St. Helens.
