Jan. 28, 1942 - Dec. 28, 2012A graveside service was held for Carol Jean (Henshaw) Wright, 70, of Coos Bay, at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens, 94105 Rink Creek Road in Coquille with Chaplain John Sheese, of South Coast Hospice, officiating.
Carol was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Tulare, Calif., to Chester and Ruby May Ross Turner Henshaw. She died Dec. 28, 2012, in Coos Bay.
Carol lived most of her life in Oregon. At the age of 16, she started her medical career as a candy striper. She continued this career off and on over the years, finishing up at Coquille Valley Hospital working on data entry. She was a volunteer EMT for 10 years in Myrtle Point.
Carol was a dedicated bowler, bowling for 35 years. She enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, playing cards, traveling and taking cruises.
Carol is survived by her husband, Robert Wright of Coos Bay; brother and wife, Ray and Joyce Henshaw of Myrtle Point; sister, Wilma Smith of Coos Bay; brother-in-law, Melvin Gilkison of Coquille; sister, Linda Townson of Keizer; sister, Dorothy White of Angola, La.; brother and wife, Danny and Betty Henshaw of Farmerville, La.; brother and wife, Chester and Dee Henshaw of Oak Grove, La.; sister and husband, Barbara and Richard Blaylock of Rayville, La.; son and wife, Richard and Helen Crook of Portland; daughter and husband, Vicki and Lonnie Perry of Vernonia; son, Jeffrey Crook of Oregon; son, David Crook of San Antonio, Texas; daughter and husband, Ruby and Darin Kingery of Coos Bay; brother-in-law and wife, William and Judy Wright of Hauser; stepson and wife, Dennis and Neme Wright of Coos Bay; stepdaughter and husband, Tari and Ken Little of North Bend; stepdaughter and husband, Paula and Jim McMillan of North Bend; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby May Ross Turner; father, Chester Henshaw; sister, Georgie Mae Gilkison; son, William L. Crook Jr.; nephew, Stephen Henshaw; and great-nephew, Thomas Gilkison.
