Born Mar 28 1896, Pulaski County, Missouri.1,2,3,5  (Mar - 1897).4  

Edmond was a World War I veteran.3  On Jun 4 1917 David E. Hinshaw, age 21, registered for the World War I draft in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He declared he was born March 28 1896 in Missouri, and was then residing in Dilworth, [Kay County,] Oklahoma where he was single and a self-employed farmer.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, light hair.2  

He married Mattie Mae White, about 1923.1,3  Mattie was born Nov 4 1904, Kansas.1,3  

No children.1  

Edmond and May were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 1930), 824 Wallnut [sic] St., Cushing, Payne County, Oklahoma:3

Hinshaw, Edmon D [unclear], head-of-household, age 34, born in Missouri; parents born in United States; first married at age 27 [or 22 - unclear]; occupation: bus driver, transportation; World War I veteran.
Hinshaw, May M., wife, age 25, born in Kansas; father born in Illinois; mother born in Tennessee; first married at age 18.

Mattie died May 20 1972, buried Ethel Reece Cemetery, Barnsdall, Oklahoma.1  

David Edmond Hinshaw died Sep - 1972, buried Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall, Oklahoma.5  

David's obituary was published in the Barnsdall (Oklahoma) newpaper on September 8, 1972:1

A native of Missouri Mr. Hinshaw was born on March 28, 1896, in Pulaska [sic] County, and as a small child came to Oklahoma by covered wagon with his father, brother and sisters, settling in Tulsa county.  He received his education in the North Side School in Tulsa and at the completion of his schooling entered the United States Army in World War I (1918).  He was a Private First Class in the Detachment #1, Motor transport Corps, Camp Johnston, Florida.  After his honorable discharge in December 1922, Mr. Hinshaw moved to Barnsdall where he engaged as a driller in independent oilfield drilling and remained in oilfield work until his retirement.  Mr. Hinshaw was a member of the Webster Scharack American Legion Post 227 having served as it's Commander.
