FATAL ACCIDENT AT MELSTONE

Young Rancher Is Terribly Mangled
When Team Runs Away and
Drags Disc Over Him.

Elisha Hinshaw, 28, a young rancher of near Melstone, was killed last Saturday by being dragged in a disc by a runaway team.  The accident occurred at 11:00 o'clock in the forenoon and was seen by several neighbors, who immediately came to his assistance.  The team ran into a fence where the unfortunate man was extricated by his neighbors.  He died six hours afterwards of loss of blood and internal injuries sustained in the terrible accident.  Hinshaw had hitched up a team of raw mules between a horse to a double disc.  When they became frightened and started to run he was thrown from his seat onto the first disc and was caught in the second one and dragged a considerable distance.

Hinshaw was 27 years and six months of age.  His wife died about a year ago.  A little boy, thirteen months old, is left parentless, and will be taken care of by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dougal, who live near Melstone.

Undertaker M. A. Acton went to Melstone Sunday to prepare the body of the unfortunate man for burial.  The remains were interred Monday afternoon in the cemetery at Musselshell where the wife and sister of the deceased are buried.
